About Wayne Hewson
Wayne Hewson is a Tsimshian carver from Metlakatla, Alaska. Hewson's carving career began in 1967 in a boarding school in Wrangell, when he used a pocketknife and a bar of soap to carve a beaver. Since then, he has carved more than 10 totem poles. Hewson is a musical artist as well as a visual one. He plays the guitar and drums, and sings in the band Midnight Sun, which hails from his village.
