Directions for constructing this paper dog sled are below.

Directions for Making a Paper Dog Sled:
  1. Cut out the sled and runners on the bold lines.
  2. Color the sled and runners - have fun with it!
  3. Fold on the dotted lines -
    1. Sections a, b, and c fold into section d. This makes a 'scoop' shape out of the body of the sled. Make sure section d is resting on the table or desk in front of you.
    2. Fold the runners so that w folds toward x, and z folds toward y. This will look like an 'L' shape on one side and a backwards 'L' on the other side.
  4. Glue the dotted flaps on the body of the sled onto the backside of section a - the area where the musher would stand.
  5. Glue the runners to the bottom and sides of the sled -
    1. Section w is glued to the outside of section b, while section x is glued to the bottom of section d on the same side.
    2. Section z is glued to the outside of section c, while section y is glued to the bottom of section d on the same side.
  6. Create a team of dogs to pull your sled! You can make them out of paper, fuzzy pipe cleaners, plastic blocks, or even macaroni and spaghetti noodles!

Be safe in your work area! If you think you might need help with your scissors, glue, or any thing else, ask a friend to give you a helping hand. Maybe they will want to make their own sled!
