The Detention of Alaskan Japanese Americans and Aleuts During World War II
Learn about the history of Alaska's residents being relocated after the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941 and Dutch Harbor in 1942. Japanese-American residents were moved and detained in remote camps in the lower-48 while the Aleut residents of the Aleutian and Pribiloff Islands were relocated to Southeast Alaska camps.
