calls for resourcefulness. For small business owners, this means
facing challenges - seasonally available resources, a small local
market, fluctuations in tourism sales, and expensive shipping
costs. With passion, inventiveness, perseverance, and a dedication
to quality, Fairbanks idealists and entrepreneurs meet these challenges.
Some continue or begin traditions of family farming. Some have
established businesses on family homesteads. Others have turned
a hobby into a livelihood or created products to fund charitable
work. Fairbanks business owners contribute to the economic well-being
of the community and create regionally distinctive products for
residents and visitors.
