Mareca has been with the museum since 2008. She was born and raised in Fairbanks with many years abroad in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany and Spain. She studied studio art and art history in Hills Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge and graduated with a degree in Studio Art from Carleton College in 2003 and an MFA from California Institute for the Arts (CalArts) in Los Angeles, CA in 2007.
Karinna graduated with an MFA in Printmaking from the Art Department at UAF. She received her BA in Art Theory and Practice from Northwestern University in 2009. At Northwestern, she worked as a Curatorial and Print Room Conservation Assistant at the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art from 2005-2009. She also volunteered at the Reykjavik Art Museum while living in Iceland on a Fulbright Fellowship from 2009-2010.
Kaji is originally from Japan and completed his MFA degree in photography at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He loves traveling, backpacking and cross-country skiing with a medium format film camera and always responds to the beauty of nature. Kaji's Ice Formations series has recieved international awards and was published in Photo Technique magazine in 2012.
Gabrielle has an M.S. in Geology from UAF and a B.A. in Geology from Whitman College. She also works as an educator and outreach specialist for UAMN Education and Public Programs and as an instructor for the Colors of Nature project.
