Arctos Database
Arctos is an ongoing effort to integrate access to specimen data, collection-management tools, and external resources on the Web. Nearly all that is known about a specimen can be included in Arctos, and, except for some data encumbered for proprietary reasons, data are open to the public.
Arctos currently includes specimen data from the museum's bird, fish, insect and mammal collections as well as the herbarium.Search for specimens online at http://arctos.database.museum/home.cfm.
Alaska's Digital Archives
The University of Alaska Museum of the North was one of the first museums in the nation to integrate objects from its collections into an online library catalog. Almost 700 objects from the museum's archaeology, ethnology & history and fine arts collections are included in Alaska's Digital Archives along with multimedia resources from the museum's education department. The museum objects join maps, oral histories, photographs and other historical documents in the digital archives.
Browse these objects online at http://vilda.alaska.edu/cdm4/browse.php.
