Student Volunteer (Summer 2013)

Jiyeon "Joan" Baek graduated from West Valley High School in 2012 and is currently an undergraduate at UC Berkeley with an intended major in Molecular and Cell Biology. She loves to travel; she has lived in South Korea, Michigan, and North Dakota in addition to Alaska, and has visited over 40 states. In her free time, Joan enjoys volunteering with Cal Rotaract, a volunteering club. She works part-time as a curatorial assistant at the University and Jepson Herbaria and began volunteering at the University of Alaska Museum in the summer of 2013.
