UAF's 11th annual Forest Sports Festival

Lumberjack types competed in ax throwing, log rolling on land and on water, bowsaw and crosscut sawing, fire building and more at the 11th annual Farthest North Forest Sports Festival Saturday, Oct. 4 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

This School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences project focused on measuring contaminants in the water around the Aleutians and determining the productivity and biodiversity of the underwater flora and fauna of the region.
