Farthest North Press Club
Meets weekly at The Felix Cook House Restaurant in Fairbanks. Guests generally are "news makers" who are asked to open their remarks with a "new, interesting or provocative" statement.

Society of Professional Journalists
This group of working members of press and electronic media occasionally invites speakers to their meetings; topics range from journalistic ethics, improving the craft of journalism, and/or understanding the issues surrounding the production, reporting and documentation of news events. Guests are generally scheduled months in advance. The public is welcome to attend.

News-Miner editorial board
Guests in this forum are generally policy makers who provide newspaper editors and managers in-depth accounts of their philosophy, goals and objectives. Generally, meetings are on Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m.

Rotary clubs
Rotary Clubs feature a guest speaker as part of their regular weekly programs; guests generally give a 15-20 minute presentation, which is followed by a question and answer session. Each club has a separate program coordinator, which schedules guests.

Aurora Borealis Rotaract meets every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Rasmuson Library Kayak room on the UAF campus.

Fairbanks Rotary meets every Thursday at noon in the Westmark Gold Room in Fairbanks.

North Pole Rotary meets every Wednesday at noon at the Pagoda Restaurant, North Pole.

Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber of Commerce sponsors weekly general membership luncheons that feature prominent local and national speakers discussing important issues relevant to the business community. The general membership luncheons are held at the Westmark Gold Room every Tuesday at noon.

The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meets every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with time allowed for guest comments. In addition, there are several active committees of the chamber, including the UA Committee, which may be appropriate for guest presentations. Call or e-mail the chamber with presentation ideas, announcements or speaker ideas.

Alaska Press Club
This is a professional organization for men and women working in communications. The press club meets monthly by teleconference at the UAA journalism department. They also have a statewide annual meeting. Guest speakers are welcome; there are always special-topic seminars during "J-Week" and other meetings.
