Society of Professional Journalists
This group of working members of press and electronic media occasionally invites speakers to their meetings; topics range from journalistic ethics, improving the craft of journalism, and/or understanding the issues surrounding the production, reporting and documentation of news events. Guests are generally scheduled months in advance. The public is welcome to attend.

Rotary clubs
Rotary Clubs feature a guest speaker as part of their regular weekly programs; guests generally give a 15-20 minute presentation, which is followed by a question and answer session. Each club has a separate program coordinator, which schedules guests.

Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber of Commerce sponsors weekly general membership luncheons that feature prominent local and national speakers discussing important issues relevant to the business community. The general membership luncheons are held at the Westmark Gold Room every Tuesday at noon.

The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meets every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with time allowed for guest comments. In addition, there are several active committees of the chamber, including the UA Committee, which may be appropriate for guest presentations. Alaska Press Club
This is a professional organization for men and women working in communications. The press club meets monthly by teleconference at the UAA journalism department. They also have a statewide annual meeting. Guest speakers are welcome; there are always special-topic seminars during "J-Week" and other meetings.
