Petroleum Engineering Program Expands With BP Donation

Fairbanks, Alaska - The University of Alaska Fairbanks Petroleum Engineering Program will be able to expand its outreach using a recent corporate donation from BP Exploration, Alaska, Inc. "We're happy to support projects at UAF which enhance Alaska's oil recovery efforts," said company president John Morgan. "This is the first phase in a new working relationship between UAF and BP," he said.

There are 49 UAF petroleum engineering students in Anchorage and Fairbanks. Graduate and undergraduate courses are offered by UAF in Anchorage at the UAA campus and at BP facilities to serve working engineers and technicians in Anchorage and on the North Slope.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Petroleum Development Laboratory will be able to expand its research efforts using a recent corporate donation from BP Exploration, Alaska, Inc. "We're happy to support projects at UAF which enhance Alaska's oil recovery efforts," said company president John Morgan. "This is the first phase in a new working relationship between BP and UAF," he said.
Established in 1984, the Petroleum Development Laboratory (PDL) is the research arm of UAF's School of Mineral Engineering. PDL aids industry and state agencies to improve technology and maximize Alaska oil and natural gas recovery efforts.
