SUBJECT:            UAF Hosts Fairbanks College and Career Fair

LOCATION:         Patty Center

DATE & TIME:     Nov. 12, 2001 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

More than 100 representatives from universities, colleges, armed services and technical schools from across the country will be meeting with nearly 1,500 high school juniors and seniors from Interior Alaska at the University of Alaska Fairbanks for the Fairbanks College and Career Fair. UAF has been hosting the event since 1998.

"The fair gives students an opportunity to gather information that will help them make the right decision about colleges and careers," said Nancy Dix, UAF admissions director. "Finding a college that meets the student’s needs in academics, student services, financial aid and location can be essential to the student’s overall success."

Information will be provided on the UA Scholars Program, financial aid, exchange opportunities, college athletics and occupational trades for women. Parents and community members are welcome to attend.
