Friends, Fairbanksans, Alaskans – Come celebrate International Friendship Day with the UAF Department of Foreign Languages and the Office of International Programs.

International Friendship Day is an annual Fairbanks event dating back to 1987; it is a celebration of the cultural diversity that is found in the local community. This year's celebration will include stage performances, ethnic food booths and informational tables.

UAF students from the Department of Foreign Languages will be participating in stage performances between 4 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Performances will include an original piano piece by exchange student Takanori Ishii, and a traditional Japanese song performed by students of the UAF Japanese Studies Program. The Foreign Languages Department and the Office of International Programs will be selling tea and cookies, and handing out informational brochures and compact discs about UAF and the College of Liberal Arts.
