DATE & TIME          Monday, Oct. 11 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.

More than 1,000 high school juniors and seniors from Interior Alaska will converge on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus next week for the Fairbanks College and Career Fair. Students will meet with more than 90 representatives from Ivy League universities, colleges, armed services and technical schools spanning the nation during the annual event, held Monday, Oct. 11 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. in the Patty Center Gym.

The morning session will be tailored to students from the Hutchison Career Center and West Valley, Lathrop, Howard Luke Alternative, North Pole, Eielson, Monroe high schools, who will be bussed to the fair for the event. Students from Tok, Delta Junction and other outlying areas are also expected to attend. The afternoon session, new this year to the fair, will offer information for parents and students.

The UAF Financial Aid Office and UAF Athletics will discuss the Alaska student loan program, financing college, Nanook athletics and other topics throughout the day. Information about the new UA Scholars Program, which awards top Alaskan high school students four-year scholarships to attend the in-state school of their choice, will be presented at 5:15 p.m.
