Focus
My goal is to provide educational opportunities for the public that will promote healthy rivers and oceans, marine safety, and sustainable fisheries in the Bering Strait region. Climate change is hard hitting in northwest Alaska and there is a great need for forward thinking in our use of marine resources. I work to expand community awareness of ocean-related issues and improve smart harvesting and fish processing. I also facilitate science-based decision making in the Bering Strait by supporting future fisheries and marine biologists, increasing regional marine research and aiding communication between locals and scientists.
