The Eileen Panigeo MacLean House is located on Columbia Circle, set in a quiet wooded area one block north of the University Police and Fire Departments, and a short walk to the Wood Center for dining and activities. The UAF shuttle runs to the front door, on call from 7:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily. Our dorm is unique in that it houses a maximum of 20 students (single bed, two per room) and two live in Resident Assistants, one male and one female student worker. The common area in the main bulding holds the dorm office, pool table and vending machines, comfortable sectional couches in the living area, and community kitchen.
Built with student comfort in mind, these spacious rooms make rooming at UAF a pleasure. Dorms are divided into male and female houses, with restroom and shower facilities for both in each building. Both buildings are centrally located around the main common building, and share a parking lot. Buildings are secure, accessible only to residents by UAF card key. Each building has a small kitchenette nook and sitting area.
All residence hall rooms are fully furnished. The standard furnishings for a double room include:
- 2 twin extra-long beds
- 2 dressers
- 2 desks with desk chairs
- 2 wardrobe/closets
- 8 shelves
Private Gym and Laundry
Eileen's House residents can enjoy their own gym facility, with new eliptical, cycle, and Bowflex equipment and a wall-mounted flat screen television with cable service. This room is located in its own building between the male and female dorms. Attached is a laundry facility, with two washers and two driers.
