Updating Your Browser

To derive the most from online information resources it is recommended that your Web browser be version 4.0 or higher.

Two of the most popular Web browser programs are Netscape Navigator® and Microsoft® Internet Explorer (MSIE).  Either one of these programs may arrive pre-installed on computer hardware or be provided through an Internet Service Provider.

If you have an older version of either Netscape or MSIE, it is recommended that you upgrade to a newer version. The best way to upgrade browsers is to use your current Web browser to download a newer version from your Web browser's home page.

Obtain the latest version of Netscape Navigator® for Windows® or Macintosh, FREE of charge, at   http://home.netscape.com/computing/download/

Obtain the latest version of MSIE for Windows®, FREE of charge, at   http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm

Obtain the latest version of MSIE for Macintosh, FREE of charge, at   http://www.microsoft.com/mac/download/

* Note:  "Timing out" may occur depending on your ISP, level of connectivity, location, etc..   If you are "timed out" prior to completing the download or prefer to install the program from a disk, Netscape and Microsoft have an option to "order" the disk.  Currently the cost of this is $10 or less (little more than postage) and is available through the above Web sites.
