Spanish is one of the most commonly spoken languages in the world. In the United States, it is second in prevalence only to English. In the increasing global marketplace, Spanish is becoming an extremely useful, and often necessary, language. Our program offers students an opportunity to develop speaking and writing skills in Spanish, delve into the beauty of its rich literature, study the diverse cultures where it is spoken, gain an awareness of the complex international relations between the Hispanic world and the United States, or simply to figure out exactly what is being ordered in a Mexican restaurant. Students may receive UAF credit for study abroad in various Spanish-speaking countries.
Come to the Spanish conversation hour each Tuesday and Thursday from 1-2pm in the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Diversity (in Eielson 104)! Practice your Spanish speaking skills with others who are interested in the language.
