Spanish Language and Culture at UAF
Spanish is one of the most commonly spoken languages in the world. In the United States, it is second in prevalence only to English. In the increasing global marketplace, Spanish is becoming an extremely useful, and often necessary, language. Our program offers students an opportunity to develop speaking and writing skills in Spanish, delve into the beauty of its rich literature, study the diverse cultures where it is spoken, gain an awareness of the complex international relations between the Hispanic world and the United States, or simply to figure out exactly what is being ordered in a Mexican restaurant. Students may receive UAF credit for study abroad in various Spanish-speaking countries.
