Trina Mamoon has a Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is an Associate Professor of Foreign Languages and teaches advanced level Russian Language, literature and cinema courses and beginning level French. Her scholarly interests include Nineteenth-century and contemporary Russian literature and culture, Russian and European cinema and transnational women's literature. Publication highlights include: Pushkin's Tatiana in Tchaikovsky's Opera; Himalayan Paintings of Nikolai Rerikh; Sufism and Bangladeshi National Identity; Black Widows in the Chechan conflict and Vladamir Solovyev's Mystical Philosophy.
