German born and educated, adjunct professor Helga Wagenleiter made Alaska her home over 30 years ago. She lived in rural Alaska, and began working for one of UAF’s rural campuses, and then opened a gallery and B&B. For the past few years she has lived in Fairbanks, and is pleased to work as an adjunct German instructor at UAF. She loves, people, education, languages and cultures. In addition to her drive to “understand” people, her visual creativity is still an important part of her life. Her art glass production, which she started in the 1990’s, is still alive and well.
