(find out more about Leone)
Postcards is an eclectic mix of (mostly) acoustic music that blends melody with poetry from around the world. From Celtic to the blues, world beat to roots, the world of music is the host's playground. Featured local, regional, national and international artists include such diverse talents as the Indigo Girls, Ann Reed, David Grimes, Christine Lavin, Keb'Mo, Habib Koite, Marley's Ghost, the Austin Lounge Lizards, Mary Black, Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Dar Williams, Neko Case and her Boyfriends, Paris Combo, Hart Rouge, Ali Farka Toure, and the Picketts.

Leone actively seeks out lesser known artists who capture her fancy through lyricism and/or attitude to share with her audience. She has been trekking to Seattle for years to attend the Bumbershoot Festival, and for the last few years has added the Redmond WOMAD world music festival to her must-hear-list as well. She had the pleasure of touring Mali with a group sponsored by Afropop Worldwide in 2000 to further expand her experience with the rich musical traditions of West Africa. She hopes to continue traveling and delving into diverse musical traditions around the world. You can safely expect these excursions to be reflected in Postcards! Since she finds it profoundly irritating to be restricted to a particular genre of music or set of rules, listeners can expect a wide variety from week to week, chosen by whim of the host. After all, she is a volunteer and she does this for fun!
