Mountains and Milestones
Host Heather Taggard explores "The Mountain" - the most famous draw for
visitors to Alaska. After a brief exploration of "Glitter Gulch" and
some soaking up of the night life and music scenes, viewers trek the back country of Denali National Park nourished by organic cuisine from 229 Parks and well rested from a stay at the Denali Mountain Morning Hostel. Next it's on to the town of Talkeetna and the historic Talkeetna Roadhouse, plus a walking tour of the town's eccentric main street and arts community. The journey continues with a Talkeetna Air Taxi flight-seeing tour that includes a stop at Denali Base Camp
and conversations with the base camp manager and mountain climbers from
all over the world who've converged on the Kahiltna Glacier to make
their attempt at Denali's summit.
