What are the rights of a research participant? 

A research participant has the right to read and discuss the informed consent (containing all required elements) before participating in any research. A research participant has the right to ask any questions regarding the research and to have these questions answered in a satisfactory manner. The participant’s decision whether or not to participate in the research must be completely voluntary. The participant has the right to withdraw from the study at any time without penalty.

Participants can contact the researchers if they have questions about the research.
