UAF policy and related
procedures comply with the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving
Recombinant DNA Molecules, US laws and regulations regarding the possession,
use and transfer of Select Agents and Toxins, and appropriate professional
society guidelines.
All Registration Applications (rDNA or Infectious
Agent) must be submitted by a UAF person who meets the requirements to
be a Principal
Investigator (PI) on a funding proposal. The PI on a grant should
normally serve as the PI on the LBC Assurance; any exceptions must
be approved by the Office of Research Integrity.
Basic
information on Biosafety Levels and related precautions is available
in the readings suggested below or by contacting the UAF Biosafety Officer
(Tracey Martinson).
