I-AC Rural Centers
In 1987, the Interior-Aleutians Campus was created by a University of Alaska Fairbanks restructuring process which expanded to include rural areas and produced the College of Rural and Community Development. The Interior-Aleutians Campus became one of several rural campuses within the college.
The Interior-Aleutians Campus is unique among these campuses because it is decentralized throughout the Interior and part of the Aleutian chain. The Interior-Aleutians Campus is made up of six former Rural Education Centers. They each serve as the hub of educational services for the surrounding villages.
