Kristy Malamute

Kristy is from the village of Nulato, and has lived in Fairbanks for the last 20 yrs. She graduated from UAF in 2000 with a B.A. in Rural Development. Prior to working at UAF Kristy has worked with the Louden Tribal Council in Galena as the Director of Tribal Operations, she then moved back to Fairbanks to work for Fairbanks Native Association (FNA), Che’ghutsen Project, a collaborative effort and partnership between FNA and UAF. Kristy been employed at UAF since 2004. In all positions held, Kristy has always been involved in working with Alaskan Native youth.   She understands the difficult boundaries between the urban and rural divide and offers her experience and assistance to those that want to make that transition whether it’s for employment or educational purposes.

Kristy has one son, Alexander who is the joy of her life. Kristy enjoys the essences of being in the Alaskan wilderness of fishing, moose hunting, berry picking, and boating. Kristy also likes to run and play softball.

Kristy’s position here at I-AC consists in assisting the Director’s office, Human Resources and PPA.
