vary in population and are located on the Lower Yukon and Upper Kuskokwim
Rivers.
- All travel is
by air.
- Approximately
66% of the population is Alaska Native, predominantly Athabascan,
representing four of the eleven Athabascan Languages.
- The McGrath
Center provides a variety of locally offered college classes.
- The Center staff
can also assist you in preparing for a University Degree or Certificate
Program.
- Outside of McGrath,
most of the area residents are only seasonally employed; however,
the area is developing a mining economy.
- The center provides
applied mining training to prepare residents for employment in this
industry.
