The Honors Program gets guidance and advice from both the Faculty Advisory Council and the Honors Student Council. Each has relatively distinct areas of focus. The Faculty Advisory Council considers matters pertaining to admission, retention, curriculum, and helps evaluate applications for scholarships, tuition waivers and travel grants. The Honors Student Council is the voice of the Honors students. It organizes student social activities and fund-raising events to benefit local nonprofit agencies, as well as coordinating the annual Welcome Barbecue and the annual Excellence in Teaching luncheon. They are consulted about changes in curriculum and policies. Members of the Honors Student Council are welcome to attend the meetings of the Faculty Advisory Council.
