The Academic Advising Center provides academic advising and general information for baccalaureate students who have not declared a major (general studies), premajor students and exploratory students changing out of a declared major.
The Academic Advising Center is staffed by professional and faculty advisors representing the schools and colleges at UAF. They will assist you in exploring all the options available to you for course selection, majors and potential career opportunities.
There are other offices at UAF that also assist students with academic questions. Rural Student Services (located in the Brooks Building on campus) and the Student Assistance and Advising Center at the Community and Technical College at 604 Barnette Street in downtown Fairbanks have academic advisors available to work with students.
You will eventually work with a faculty advisor in a major department and may be referred by an academic advisor from one of the offices listed above. It is important to be thinking about your degree plans so that courses are taken in a timely manner and to make connections with the faculty and department where you intend to obtain your UAF degree.
