Staff Training

All graduate coordinators are invited and encouraged to attend a  staff   training  session on Tuesday, October 21 from 2:30-4:00pm  in the Library Media Classroom (#340 Rasmuson). Topics to be covered include:
  • Graduate student admission process
  • GARFs
  • OnBase
  • Banner Reports
  • Registration
  • Contract letters and health insurace
  • Thesis and dissertation submission
  • Graduation

This  training , offered with the coordinated efforts of the Graduate School and the Office of Admissions and the Registrar, is designed to offer an overview of the graduate student processes from application to graduation. 

Even if you have been in a graduate coordinator position for a while, this is an opportunity to ask questions, review processes and share ideas. Please mark you calendar and plan to attend; bring any questions or concerns you have.

Faculty Resource: Mentoring Graduate Students

Presentation and notes from “mentoring graduate students” luncheon now available

On November 19, the Graduate School and Office of Faculty Development hosted a faculty luncheon especially for new faculty to discuss experiences and paths to success in mentoring graduate students. The discussion was led by a panel comprised of faculty members Mike Koskey, Anupma Prakash, and Barbara Taylor and graduate students Sophie Gilbert and Christina Chu.
