 INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROQUEST:

  • Complete the Electronic Thesis or Dissertation (ETD) Submittal Process: Log into http://www.etdadmin.com/UAF and create an account.
  • Navigate through the checklist and answer all questions,etc.
  • Submit your thesis/dissertation as a .pdf copy with embedded fonts
  •  A hard copy of your work for archiving at the Rasmuson Library is no longer required; however, your department might still ask you for one, so please check with them.  If you choose to order printed and bound copies, you can either order them from Proquest at the time of submission, or you can send them to another business for printing/binding. Payment for Proquest copies is via credit card.

After you are notified of the corrections required by the Graduate School, you will need to submit (via ETD) the final, corrected version of your thesis/dissertation (.pdf). Once submitted, we review it to ensure the requested corrections have been made and will insert a digital copy of your signature page before approving it for publication.

Click here if you are a Master's degree student who is writing a THESIS...

As a Master's with Thesis student, you need to submit the following:

  • Report on Comprehensive Exam* (oral and/or written as required by your program*
    • NOTE: Some programs combine your defense and comprehensive exams into one large event.  If this is true for your program, please be aware that we still need this form filled out and fully signed)
  • Report on Thesis Defense* 
    • NOTE: Some programs combine your defense and comprehensive exams into one large event.  If this is true for your program, please be aware that we still need this form filled out and fully signed)
  • Application for Graduation (strict deadlines apply!)
  • UAF Publishing Agreement
  • Language and/or Research Tool (if applicable for your program)
  • Exit Survey completion page (upload the example)
  • Interdisciplinary Master's Degree students must also submit a completed Interdisciplinary Degree Title Form.
  • Two copies of your signed signature page (see page 3 of the Thesis Formatting Handbook located here).  We cannot review your thesis until we have the signature page in our possession.
  • A PDF copy of your thesis that has been formatted per the Thesis Format Handbook and has been reviewed and approved by your committee, department chair and your school or college's dean must be uploaded via ProQuest (see instructions below).

STEP 3:  SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS THROUGH THIS LINK!

  • Project Consent form
  • Exit Survey completion page screenshot
  •  A completed Interdisciplinary Degree Title Form (if applicable.  It is only required for Interdisciplinary Master's Degree students).
  • *A signature page with your committee's names and signatures (modeled after the example in the Thesis Formatting Handbook but without your School or College Dean's signature line OR the Graduate School Dean's signature line.)  *INSERT THIS AS THE FIRST PAGE OF YOUR PROJECT
  • *A title page (also modeled after the title page in the Thesis Formatting Handbook)  *INSERT THIS AS THE SECOND PAGE OF YOUR PROJECT
  • *An abstract. (This will allow the library archivists to obtain enough data for the collection).   *INSERT THIS AS THE THIRD PAGE OF YOUR PROJECT 
  • The Graduate School does not review Graduate Projects, however, digital copies of all projects must be submitted to the Graduate School for digital archiving in ScholarWorks, UA's Institutional Repository. *AGAIN, PLEASE COMBINE YOUR SIGNATURE PAGE, TITLE PAGE, ABSTRACT AND PROJECT INTO ONE DOCUMENT BEFORE UPLOADING!

Click here if you are a Master's degree student who is pursuing an M.B.A. or a Master's with the "OTHER" option (e.g. some M.Ed. degrees)...:

If you are an MBA student, you must satisfactorily complete all coursework noted on your Advancement, which in turn should match your program requirements.  Pay careful attention to the graduation audit you will receive from Graduation Services.  Please also complete the exit survey.

If you are a student whose program allows you to do some option other than project or thesis, you will have to discuss your paperwork requirements with your department.  Also,  be sure to complete the exit survey.
