Phonathon

The Phonathon is a student calling program that connects current students to UAF Alumni and Friends. The Phonathon program raises support for the University and builds life-long relationships.

UAF’s Spring Phonathon is off to a great start.  This is the first time that UAF has conducted a spring phonathon. Students are calling alumni based on their college or school affiliation and asking for the support of that school or college.

This semester we are happy to have the following students as members of our student calling program team:

Angi - Class of 2014 - Anthropology

Angi
Angi loves horses, stained glass and target practice. She loves the snow and the cold.

Fun Fact: Angi is a civil war skirmisher who shoots authentic weapons with live fire competition.

Greg - Class of 2015 - Criminal Justice

Greg

Greg is joining in the family tradition of going to UAF. His three sisters and five aunts have gone to school at UAF.

Fun Fact:  Greg’s favorite UAF tradition is Starvation Gulch.

Maureen - Economics

Maureen

The people at UAF have been very friendly to Maureen.  She calls alums and friends because she wants to meet and chat with others that have been impacted by UAF.

Fun Fact:  Maureen is a graduate student who is originally from Africa.

Kizmet - Wildlife Biology

Kizmet enjoys speaking with alums and learning about UAF's rich history.

Fun Fact:  Kizmet is an exchange student from Scotland.

Maggie - Class of 2015 - Alaska Native Studies

Maggie likes to call and talk to new people.

Fun Fact:  Maggie is an appreciator of Alaska Native art, history, and culture.

Ashton - Class of 2015 - Biology

Ashton

Ashton calls alums and friends with the hope of bettering the university and its departments.

Fun Fact:  Ashton enjoys the sense of community at UAF.  It is very welcoming to incoming freshmen.

Kris - Mathematics

Kris

Kris enjoys calling alums and friends because he believes in academic excellence at UAF.  He really appreciates and is proud of the arctic research conducted by UAF.

Fun Fact:  Kris likes to read, snowboard, and float the Chena in the summer.

Gisela - Biology

Gisela

Gisela likes calling alums because it gives her an opportunity to learn more about Alaska and UAF.

Fun Fact: Gisela is an exchange student from Puerto Rico and is currently enjoying the change in climate.

Lindsey - Class of 2012 - Foreign Language

Lindsey

Lindsey enjoys calling alumni and finding out where they are and what they have done since leaving UAF.

Fun Fact:   Lindsey is a big reader.  She loves the Language Department and all the ice sculptures on campus.
