Support Global Change Research at UAF

Susan Sugai, associate director for the Center for Global Change & Arctic System Research, and Glenn Juday, professor of forest ecology, are our 2012 employee giving co-chairs. They share a passion for global and climate change research, and they support this area by giving to the Robert Belous Research Endowment (PDF). Keep an eye out for more information from Susan and Glenn in April.

You can give to support your passion, too! You choose the scholarship, program or department that you want to support, and with payroll deduction giving is easy. Each gift, large or small, adds up to make a difference in the lives of our students and colleagues every day. Support the Troth Yeddha' Park at UAF

Every day the University of Alaska Fairbanks' faculty and staff show their support to UAF through their hard work and dedication to its students. The Annual Giving Program would like to give a special thanks to employees who supported UAF last fiscal year, or already this fiscal year, through gifts to the areas of the university they love the most.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I support UAF?
Giving is a personal decision, and we each have our own answer to that question. In addition to your daily contributions of energy and effort, a financial contribution is a different and important way to
demonstrate your investment in sustaining UAF and its students. The number of reasons for giving are diverse, but all reflect a sincere belief in the work being done here at UAF. Ultimately, your participation is a vote of confidence in the university and its future.

How much should I give?
You determine the size and designation of your gift according to your own charitable interests, your
personal willingness to give and your financial capacity. No gift is too small. It’s your participation that matters.

What can I give to?
You have many choices, but we could not begin to list them all. Many donors choose to make an unrestricted gift, those not restricted for a specific purpose and therefore directed to our area of greatest need. Unrestricted gifts also enable the university to take advantage of unexpected opportunities. Some donors choose a specific department or program, while others might give to support technology improvements, the library, athletics or one of the many scholarships available to UAF students.

How can I give?
There are many easy ways to make a gift to UAF. You can contact the UAF Development Office at for information about making a gift via:

How does payroll deduction work?
Payroll deduction is one of the fastest, easiest and most convenient ways to make a gift. By completing the payroll deduction section on the UAF pledge form, you specify the amount you would like automatically deducted from each paycheck, the start date, and where your support should be designated. You can have an amount deducted until further notice or until a specific total has been reached.
