When should I bring a gift to Advancement Services (AS)?
Gifts should be brought to the AS office located at 4001 Geist Road Ste 6 within 24 hours of receipt by a department.  All checks, cash, and credit card information should be kept in a secure location by the department until it is delivered to AS.

When are gifts deposited?
Cash and check gifts are deposited within 24 hours of receipt in the AS office.  For gifts received after the daily deposit run, they are deposited the next business day.

Who sends a tax receipt for applicable gifts?
A receipt is mailed to the donor from UA Foundation and contains the amount of gift, fund number, and any other special references.  Keep in mind that donors cannot be tax receipted for goods or services received.

Who stewards donors?
Often gifts are stewarded by specific departments or programs that benefit from the donor intent.  UAF Development stewards gifts received for UAF Annual Giving.  

Why is a gift not showing in Raiser’s Edge (RE)?
Frequently a gift has been deposited in the bank and has been processed, but it is not seen in the gift tab of a constituents RE record.  Gifts only appear in this tab after the sum has been committed to the general ledger by Foundation Accounting. There are a several  reasons that this may be delayed,  such as a new fund is being set up for the gift, foundation accounting personnel are working on completing other tasks which have deadlines (common at calendar and fiscal year end), or there is a question as to where the gift belongs (just to name a few).

What is a gift notification?
A gift notification is a spreadsheet emailed to departments to inform them of gifts that were sent directly to the AS office that they may not be aware of.  These gift notification spreadsheets contain the gift amount, fund, and donor contact information for non-anonymous donors.

Does AS have information on Grants and Contracts that are set up against our Foundation Funds?
