Megan is a Major Gift Officer based outside of Portland, OR. She will focus on engaging alumni, friends and donors in the area and raising philanthropic support for UAF students and programs. Megan has been with UAF Development and Alumni Relations since 2007. Previously, Megan served as the Annual Giving Coordinator, later became the Annual Giving Director and was recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) with the Rising Star award in 2010. Megan, a lifelong Alaskan, is excited to connect with UAF friends in the Pacific Northwest and reminisce on time spent at UAF and within our Golden Heart Community. Megan is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
Megan, a two-time graduate of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, holds an undergraduate degree in Communication (2006) and a master’s in Professional Communication (2011). As an undergraduate student, Megan participated in an internship program in Washington D.C. and spent a year at Western Washington University on the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Program. Megan is grateful for the experiences she has and continues to gain from her alma mater and is thrilled to represent UAF from afar; Fairbanks will always be her home.
During her free time, Megan enjoys running, traveling, reading and catching up on her favorite Netflix series. Megan and her wife Andrea, (also a two-time UAF alumna), reside in Washougal, WA, along with their daughter Elliot and their dogs, Zip and Chili.
