Teresa was born and raised in Northern New York, lived in Washington, D.C. for six years, then moved to Fairbanks to make her home. Teresa has been in Fairbanks for 23 years and has worked in a variety of positions, including Community Development Manager for United Way, Director of Recruitment and Partnership Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and has been in her current position as Development Officer for the UAF School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences for four and a half years. In 2004 Teresa graduated from UAF with a bachelor’s degree in Communication.
Teresa has been a Sunrisers Rotarian since 2002 and loves her Rotary family. She has been a Team Leader, Vice President, Secretary, Membership Chair and she is currently Vocational Team Chair. Teresa has also served as Corporate Sponsorship Chair for the local American Cancer Society Relay for Life for four years. Teresa is on the local Young Life Committee with her husband.
Teresa has been married to her husband, Todd, for 19 years and they have two Miniature Schnauzers named Ziva and Bode. Todd and Teresa are active members and volunteers of Friends Community Church and have been matched as a Big Couple for seven years in the local Big Brothers Big Sisters program to a 16-year old boy named Aerich. They spend time together on a regular basis having fun. Teresa loves Alaska and enjoys music, skiing, walking, camping and cooking.
