Samara Taber


Samara joined the University of Alaska Fairbanks Development Office in June 2013 as the annual giving coordinator. She leads direct mail appeals by writing, designing and researching content and stories for print, as well as developing and producing online communication and web content from Annual Giving. She manages the bi-annual phonathon and in conjunction with the director of Annual Giving develops measures to advance communication with UAF alumni, students, employees and friends about Annual Giving and the Annual Fund.

Samara graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a bachelor of arts in Russian Studies (2006) and earned her master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh (2008). Before returning to Fairbanks, Samara worked at the University of Chicago, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Pittsburgh, and most recently, in development and communications for a non-profit in Hawai'i. She is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
