Bryan Hodgson from Aleknagik works with Colleen Simon from Huslia to capture a sample of feeder goldfish as they learn the science behind fish sampling techniques. The two students are enrolled in the Hutlee'/ Umyuarchdelee Project, managed through UAF's Interior-Aleutians and Bristol Bay campuses and funded by the National Science Foundation. Students from rural villages attended a week of science and math activities in the Harper Building on the Fairbanks campus in the program designed to help students from rural Alaska pass college science and math classes and obtain their degree.
