2012-2013 Major Projects in Motion
Grant Award Set-Up and Employee Pre-Recruitment were the first two high-priority projects put motion.
- The Grant Award Set-Up (GPS) team has presented recommendations (via a business case) to the executive level steering committee. Several recommendations have been accepted including the expansion of InfoEd, an online proposal and award management software package, exploration of higher signature thresholds on certain awards (to eliminate delays in set-up), and a training plan is in development for implementation of several solutions. See Grant Award Set-Up page for details.
- The Employee Pre-Recruitment (HIRED) team has also presented its recommendations (via a business case) to the steering committee. Several recommendations can be completed within UAF HR, while others will require System Office collaboration. Several work teams have been formed to explore feasibility of the existing UAKJobs system vs. a new system. Additionally, work teams focused on streamlining positions descriptions (PDs) and developing best practices for UAF departments are underway. See HR Pre Recruitment page for details.
The Procurement and Travel process are the next high-priority projects underway.
- Teams have been formed and have mapped the current processes. Each team will work through an implementation plan to gather data and feedback from each area in order to propose recommendations for an optimal process. Results from these teams are expected throughout the year. See project specific pages for details.
An executive level steering committee is created for each effort, to assist in the event that policy, regulation and information system issues need to be addressed.
