Important Financial Aid Dates
- January
Apply for federal aid with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is best to apply well before the time you will need financial aid to pay your educational costs.
- February
If you're not admitted yet, apply for admission to UAF. Financial aid cannot be processed if you haven't been admitted to a UAF degree or certificate program.
- February 15
UAF privately funded scholarship applications and UA Foundation applications due. These applications usually require two to three weeks to complete, so you should start early to be sure your application is finished on time.
- May 1
Admissions deadline for summer semester
- May to July
Submit federal loan applications to UAF Financial Aid Office, processing time is three to four weeks. If sent to UAF in time, loans will be disbursed during fee payment.
- June 1
Graduate admissions deadline for fall semester
- June 15
Undergraduate admissions deadline for fall semester
- May to August
Submit Alaska Supplemental Education Loan Application to Juneau, allow three to four weeks processing time. State warrants will be sent to UAF to be picked up during fee payment.
- August 1
Deadline for admission to UAF for the fall semester. This is an absolute MUST for students; we can't process financial aid for you if you haven't been admitted
- October 15
Graduate admissions deadline for spring semester
- November 1
Undergraduate admissions deadline for spring semester
Loan Counseling Schedule
- Entrance counseling is for first-time Federal Loan borrowers and transfer students.
- Exit counseling is for graduating students with Federal Loans.
Fee Payment and Billing Dates
