APPLY FOR LOANS ONLINE

Step 1Complete your Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA)

Once you've completed the FAFSA, a student aid report will be generated by the U.S. Department of Education. If you have listed our school code (001063), we will receive and electronic copy. A valid student aid report must be on file with UAF in order to process your loan applications.


Step 2 Go to UAOnline (http://uaonline.alaska.edu) and accept full or partial amount of state and/or federal loans offered to you (refer to the award notice e-mailed to you by the Financial Aid Office).

THIS STEP MUST BE COMPLETED OR LOAN REQUESTS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.

Step 3 Complete online entrance counseling if applying for federal Stafford Loans.

Step 4 Complete and submit the Title IV Authorization Form to the Financial Aid Office.

Step 6 Apply for a Stafford Loan

  If you would like to use another lender for your stafford loan, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

Step 7 Apply for an Alternative Loan (optional)
 

If you need additional funds and have exhausted all other options, you may want to consider an alternative loan. Follow the instructions on the lender's website:

  Alaska Supplemental Education Loan (A.S.E.L.)
This loan requires completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  Chase Bank
  Sallie Mae Signature Student Loan
  Wells Fargo
   
  If you would like to use another lender for your alternative loan, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

Step 8 Apply for a Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) Loan (optional)
