OBJECTIVE/DESCRIPTION
The University of Alaska Fairbanks Film Club (“the Club”) hosts the UAF Film Festival as a way to showcase films made in Alaska and/or by Alaskans as well as films pertaining to the North and the Arctic. You need not be a UAF student to submit your work to the festival.
ELIGIBILITY
Films of all genres are welcomed. Priority will be given to UAF Student films made within the last year, all other films will be considered as space allows. All genres of film will be accepted for review including documentary, animation and experimental.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS/GUIDELINES
1) You must own or obtain all rights necessary, including music rights, in order to grant
the screening of the film in the UAF Film Festival and/or be shown on the Film UAF website. Please make sure that you use only self-composed and self-recorded music,
or fully licensed third-party music. If applicable, all copyrighted material must be cleared before submission and all relevant documents must be submitted with your entry. UAF Film Club cannot be liable for the inclusion of any materials that infringe upon another’s copyright, this includes stock footage, music or any other element subject to copyright regulations.
2) Submitting entities are responsible for obtaining written releases granting the rights to use the name, likeness and performance from any individual appearing in any submission to UAF Film Festival. If a person appearing in a submission is a minor, the release must be obtained from a parent or legal guardian. UAF Film Club reserves the right to request proof of such release in a form acceptable to the Club from any submitter at any time.
3) The UAF Film Club assumes no responsibility for the acts or omissions of those
individuals or entities submitting entries pursuant to this notice. All submitting entities and/or individuals are advised to include credits and to carefully review those credits prior to submission since all entries will air exactly as they are received. Standard Films must be complete with end credits prior to submission.
4) All films must be in English or submitted with on-screen English subtitles.
5) Films should be submitted as an uncompressed .mov or .avi file. Both 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios will be accepted. Please make sure to check that your file works prior to sending. Retain a master copy for your records. Entries will not be returned. DO NOT send your only copy.
6) The deadline for submissions is Friday April 12 at 5PM.
GRANT OF RIGHTS
By submitting to The UAF Film Festival, you hereby grant to The UAF Film Club the non-exclusive rights to screen submission and/or to stream the submission online and to use segments of the work for the promotion of The UAF Film Festival. All film submissions are solely for the purposes outlined herein, and shall not be used by The UAF Film Festival, its producers or UAF for any other purpose except those outlined herein without the expressed written consent of the filmmaker. We reserve the right to refuse any content.

By submitting my work to the UAF Film Club Film Festival, the undersigned represents that I (we) own all proprietary rights to the program submitted and that I (we) have secured the rights, licenses, clearances and releases necessary for the work, so that The UAF Film Club or its representatives will not be obligated to make any payment to any third party, and that the exhibition will not infringe or violate the rights of any firm, person, or corporation. The undersigned shall indemnify, defend and hold UA/UAF/UAF Film Club and its representatives harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, cost, liabilities and expenses which may be incurred by reason of any breech of these representations, or arising out of any matter contained in the entry or otherwise by The UAF Film Festival use of the entry. The undersigned hereby grants to The UAF Film Club all rights to exhibit the work, including but not limited to, use in conjunction with promotion of The UAF Film Festival. In submitting this work, I hereby acknowledge all the submission guidelines.
