Faculty Senate Curriculum Review Committees

This is an internal page which has been created to assist members of the Curriculum Review Committee, the Graduate Academic & Advisory Committee, the Core Review Committee, and the Student Academic Development & Achievement Committee with tracking the 2008-09 Cycles of Course and Program Requests. The Excel spreadsheet linked below will be continuously updated throughout the semester, as will the tables. The spreadsheet provides an additional way to look at and utilize the data. Your suggestions, corrections and comments are welcomed. Please send them to Jayne Harvie, fysenate@uaf.edu or call me x7964.

Occupational Endorsements

Course Request Tracking Number Scheme:
THIS NUMBERING SCHEME IS JUST FOR INTERNAL USE.

U = Undergraduate, G = Graduate
C = Course, P = Program

T = Trial
Ch = Change
N = New
D = Deleted
Dev = Developmental

Dr = Dropped

Co = Core

OE = Occupational endorsement

Hypothetical Examples:
21-UTC: #21 is an undergraduate trial course.
7-GNC: #7 is a new graduate course.
2-UNP: #2 is an undergraduate new program.
10-Co: #10 is a Core course.

Explanation: Paperwork is numbered as it arrives in the Faculty Senate Office and its receipt is logged. It is also recorded on a list specific to its category (undergrad, grad, trial, or core). Thus, there may be several courses numbered "2", for example. Adding additional info to the number will help identify paperwork more quickly.

Occupational Endorsements do not go through the Senate curriculum committees; however, they are reviewed by Curricular Affairs and signed off by the chair of that committee. They are signed off by the Faculty Senate president and then forwarded to the chancellor for signature (which is the final level of approval). They are not approved at any higher level, although copies of the BOR 'hex' form are shared with Statewide Academic Council and the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
