Exploring diverging worldviews illuminated factors influencing contemporary Tlingit identity and the ancestral relationship to the landscape: the loss of the Lingít language, implementation of subsistence regulations and conflicts, and diminishment of the kóo.eex' (a memorial party). In addition, the traditional values and the mode of transmitting those values have changed.
