Apply for graduation
To participate in the May 14, 2006 commencement ceremony, you must have have met all the academic requirements and submitted your application no later than March 15. If you have questions about your graduation status, contact Graduation Services at (907) 474-7523 or (907) 474-6177, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by the office in 102 Signers' Hall.
An application for graduation and non-refundable fee must be filed with the Office of the Registrar during the semester you plan to graduate. If you file your application by the published deadline, the graduation application fee is $20. If you miss that deadline, you still may submit a late application for graduation and $30 fee up to six weeks before the last class day of the semester or summer term. Applications for graduation filed after the late deadline are processed for graduation the following semester. Students who apply for graduation and who do not complete degree/certificate requirements by the end of the semester must reapply for graduation and pay the fee again.
Caps, gowns and invitations are not included in the graduation fee and must be purchased separately. Contact the bookstore at (907) 474-6859.
Caps, gowns and announcements may be purchased from the bookstore. (Robe rentals are not available and are slightly more expensive than purchasing.) Orders are filled in the order in which they are received; the bookstore cannot guarantee size availability for orders placed after April 1. Photography will be provided by Farrar Photography. Shortly after commencement, information about packages featuring a candid photo of each graduate receiving a diploma as well as a formal portrait will be sent to each student at the address provided to the Graduation Office. Students or guests with special access needs, including an elevator, may park at the front of the Carlson Center.
If a graduating student or a member of the audience requires special seating, a large print program, an enhanced audio unit or other assistance at the commencement ceremony, please contact Mary Matthews, Disability Services, at (907) 474-6158 or email@example.com. A sign interpreter will be seated onstage; inquire at a Carlson Center information table as to seating for best visibility.
Shuttle buses will be available by request only for transportation between the Wood Center bus stop and the Carlson Center. Graduates must make their request by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (907) 474-6438.
