Analysis and Earthquake-Induced Landslide Hazard Zonation
The study has four major research components: (1) a GIS-based
procedure developed based on one-, two-, and three-dimensional deterministic
approaches to slope stability analysis; (2) the causative factors analysis
of earthquake-induced landslides; (3) an evaluation of topographic effect
of ground motion; (4) the landslide hazard zonation in Nueva San Salvador,
El Salvador.

Thesis: The Physical Dynamics of Patterned
Ground in the Foothills of the Brooks Range, Alaska
Permafrost landscapes are patterned by vegetation and
soil type. Techniques for measuring the liquid water content of moss
and in situ soil thermal conductivity are developed and applied to determine
the effect of periglacial ground patterning on heat and mass transfer
in the northern foothills of the Brooks Range, Alaska.
