Honorary
degree recipients are selected for significant achievements
that bring distinction to their academic or professional careers,
and for their lasting contributions to the state and the nation.
The 2004 recipients were former Lt. Gov. Jack Coghill, Alaska
Native leader Al Ketzler Sr., and retired U.S. Geological
Survey (USGS) research hydrologist Austin Post. Former USS
Cole officer and 1998 UAF graduate Rick Heckert is the keynote
speaker.
Every year the university bestows emeritus status on exceptional
