RESOLUTION
conferring upon
MRS. ANN M. TREMARELLO
the title of
University Registrar, Emerita

WHEREAS Mrs. Tremarello, whose association with the University spans nearly a half century, beginning in 1953 as a first-year student of accounting and management, to her graduation with a degree in business administration in 1957; has served the University of Alaska Fairbanks with distinction from 1957 to 2002; and

WHEREAS Mrs. Tremarello is known for her dedication to students, and has demonstrated by deed and example her commitment to serving those pursuing knowledge and academic achievement, and is known for building bridges between students, faculty and administration to assure student success; and her academic, personal and career advice is often sought by students outside the traditional role of a Registrar; and

WHEREAS Mrs. Tremarello has demonstrated her leadership abilities by successfully overseeing the reorganization of the Admissions and Records Department, in the implementation of new technologies, policies and procedures, as a supervisor of student academic progress and as an administrator of the documentation of degrees, from certificates to Ph.D.s; and
WHEREAS Mrs. Tremarello has seen the enrollment of the University grow from fewer than 400 to more than 8,000 students and has had a major role in overseeing the graduation of thousands of students, many of whom have remained in Alaska to contribute to the state's economic success and cultural well-being; and has diligently dedicated her time and expertise for more than four decades to the UAF Alumni Association; and has been recognized by the Association as the recipient of the William Cashen award and the Distinguished Alumni award;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chancellor of the University of Alaska Fairbanks expresses his deep appreciation to Mrs. Ann M. Tremarello for her extensive contributions to both the state of Alaska and the University; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the University of Alaska Fairbanks, in further recognition of the invaluable services rendered by Mrs. Tremarello and as evidence of the University's desire that her identification with the University be maintained, hereby salutes the appointment of Mrs. Ann M. Tremarello as University Registrar, Emerita; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be appropriately engrossed and signed by the Chancellor of the University of Alaska Fairbanks as further evidence of the esteem and respect in which he holds Mrs. Ann M. Tremarello, and conveyed to Mrs. Tremarello on this day of May 12, 2002.
