Lance Twitchell

Lance A. Twitchell carries the Tlingit names Xh’unei & Du Aanķ Kawdinook, and the Haida name Kh’eijįakw.  He is from the Tlingit, Haida, and Yup’ik native nations, speaks the Tlingit language, and has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Minnesota.  He is a multimedia artist in poetry, fiction, drama, non-fiction, Northwest Coast Native design, and traditional & contemporary music.  His grandfather Silas Dennis Senior was his first teacher, and his grandmother Dorothy Dennis lives in Skagway, Alaska, where Lance was born.  He teaches composition and creative writing, and has lived in Fairbanks for over three years with his wife Miriah and son Cody.
