Learn To Skate

Skating instructors and students

Learn to Skate classes provide foundation skills for both figure skaters and hockey players. Skaters move at their own rate through various levels with the opportunity to earn skills badges along the way. Classes begin with the basics of skating forward and backward then progress through stops, turns, cross-overs, etc.

Our season runs September-April with occasional summer classes. Classes usually run for four-six weeks with new classes starting about every month.

Rental skates are included. We strongly recommend that skaters wear a helmet (bike helmets are fine) and some gloves. We have a limited number of helmets available to borrow. New skaters may be more comfortable in snow pants or with knee pads and elbow pads. Hockey skaters are welcome to wear full gear.
